Direction
Richard Lester
Richard Lester is an american film director. The Beatles chose Lester from a list of possible directors to direct the feature film: A Hard Day's Night (1964) showed an exaggerated and simplified version of The Beatles' characters, and proved to be an effective marketing tool. Lester directed the second Beatles film Help! (1965) and won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival with The Knack …and How to Get It, an anti-conformist film which was also a commercial success.
