Synopsis

Charles Méthot owns a bar that is threatened by bankruptcy. He accepts to handle another bar in the suburbs to save his own business. After a disappointing love story with a dancer, Charles decides to make the most of his daughter's wedding and close his bar for good.

In 1966, André Forcier produces and directs his first short film Chroniques labradoriennes. At the beginning of his career, he accepts any sort of jobs to be able to finance his first feature film Le Retour de l’Immaculée Conception. In 1974, after the success of Bar Salon, Forcier receives from Vittorio De Sica himself the Silver Mermaid at the Sorrento Film Festival in Italy. He goes on with his career and directs many mesmerizing and surrealistic films (L’eau chaude l’eau frette, Au clair de la lune, Une histoire inventée).
